Greetings Nobles,
We have had a very busy few months at Hadji! The first week in October, a group of us traveled to Las Vegas to volunteer at the Shriners Children’s Open. A big Thank You to our Hospital Chairman and Board of Governor’s Member Noble Keith Goolsby for his great efforts in coordinating this event every year. Hadji sponsors hole 12 and I appreciate everyone for making the trip to help work the hole. We had great weather and fellowship and I hope everyone enjoyed their trip. If you have never been to this event, please consider going next year. In addition to watching some great golf, you can visit with other Nobles and their ladies, Imperial Officers and many of our Shrine Children and Patient Ambassadors. It
really is a wonderful time for a Nobel cause.
The second week in October brought the opening of the Haunted House. Every year it gets bigger and better and this year it did not fail to impress. Thank You to Oriental Guide Bobby Gean, Nobel Tyler Mills, Noble TC Hendrix, Nobel David Emmons and the entire BOO Crew for your dedication and hard work on the Haunted House year after year. Great job guys!
On October 22, Jennifer and myself along with Florida Board of Governors Member Illustrious Sir Carlos Baxley, P.P. his Lady Karen and Florida Board of Governors Member Dick Russell traveled to Gainesville for Shrine Care Day 2022. The event took place at the University of Florida Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute. We were shown a wonderful presentation and took a tour of the Shriners Children’s floor. The demonstrations we were shown were impressive, but the care and commitment we saw from the staff was incredible. Events like this help reaffirm that what Shriners do is
important and Shriners Children’s doctors do it better than anyone!
We celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Shriners Children’s on November 12 in the Director’s Staff Warehouse where we streamed the Dierks Bentley concert and enjoyed a great Potluck dinner. Thank you, Noble Keith Goolsby, for organizing this get together. A great night of fun and fellowship was had by all who attended.
November 18-19 brought the Steak Cookoff and Gumbo Shootout to Hadji. Noble Mitch Esser wanted to make this event even better than it was last year and I think all who attended can agree that he did just that. The food, crowd, activities, music, and Bloody Mary’s were all outstanding! I am already looking forward to next year!
Lastly, as this is my last letter to you as your Potentate, I want to take this time to thank you for the honor and privilege of being your 2022 Potentate. When the Navy sent me to Pensacola, almost 30 years ago, I didn’t think it would become home. I certainly never imagined I would gain such a largefamily. But, when I joined Hadji, that is exactly what I got. Hadji is our home and all of you are family. I will always support and work for Hadji in whatever way I can. While I hope I leave this year having done some good for Hadji, I do know that I am leaving it in good hands. Your upcoming Divan is an awesome group of Nobles that work hard for this temple every day. Please support them. Again, it has been my
honor.
Yours In Faith,
Illustrious Sir Travis High
