Letter from Your Potentate

Greetings Nobles,

Before the July Stated Session, three new Nobles were Knighted. Welcome to Hadji, Noble Svend Damhave and
his Lady Linda, Noble William Fite and his Lady Hope and Noble Roger Garrett and his Lady Nonnie. We are so
glad to have you here.

The Ladies had a Champagne Brunch on August 6th in First Lady Jennifer’s honor. Our Chief Rabban’s Lady Ella
Minchew planned a wonderful time for the ladies with help from her team Ladies Edie Boyce, Linda Damhave,
Mary Virginia Mills, Donna Stewart, and Past First Lady Adrienne Zarahn. The Gold Room was decorated with
the Starry Night theme that Jennifer loves, the food was incredible, and the champagne was flowing. They even
had a donut bar! Thank you, ladies, for making this day special for the First Lady.

On August 10th Jennifer and myself along with Chief Rabban Bobby Minchew, Lady Ella, Assistant Rabban
Bruce Stewart, Lady Donna, Recorder Larry Mills, Lady Mary Virginia, and Past Potentate Carlos Baxley and
Lady Karen traveled to Pigeon Forge, TN to represent Hadji at the South Eastern Shrine Association’s Annual
Convention. We enjoyed meeting with Imperial Officers in attendance as well as counterparts from other temples.
The Annual Oriental Band Hog Roast was August 20th. As always, a fun time was had by all who attended.
Between the Calling of The Hogs and the Chicken Drop there was never a dull moment. The food was also
amazing as Oriental Guide Bobby Gean and his team cooked the hog to perfection!

August 26-27 was Shaddai’s first ball at their temple since they were devasted by Hurricane Michael in 2018. It
was our honor along with Assistant Rabban Bruce Stewart and Lady Donna, Treasurer Ron Blake, P.P. and Lady
Becky as well as Past Potentate Carlos Baxley and Lady Karen, to attend this very special occasion for Illustrious
Sir Greg Williams. Shaddai looks great and we could not be happier for our friends to be back up and running.
The Daughters of The Nile had their annual talent show on September 10, complete with dancing elephants, AKA
Anna’s Dancing Girls, a special appearance by June and Johnny Cash (Queen Christine Francis and Past Queen
Sylvia Galloway), and even a visit from a familiar looking cupid (Noble John Hartley is a great sport!). The MC
for the evening was our very own Past Potentate Carlos Baxley, who took wardrobe change to another level, and
our beautiful Patient Ambassador Bella Rose. Both of whom were amazing! Thank you, ladies, for a wonderful
evening.

Sunday September 18th, the Untouchables had their Widows Appreciation party. The ladies of the Hadji’s
Widows Club are an amazing group of ladies who are always willing to do whatever is asked of them for Hadji
and we are incredibly grateful for all they do for us. Thank you to the Untouchables for honoring them with a
wonderful meal, fun games and prizes and awesome patriotic décor.

Looking forward, the next few months are going to be busy at Hadji. The Haunted House preparations are in full
swing. Please be on the lookout for emails with updates and help requests. We are also getting ready for the
Steak Cookoff. In addition to the Sizzing Steak Showdown, there will also be Vendors, The Magic Carpet Car
Show, and the Gumbo Shootout for everyone to enjoy. There are still Vendor and Team spots available! Lastly, on
December 10 we will be having Breakfast with Santa. High Priest and Prophet Rondel King and his lady Debbie
are already hard at work on the Children’s Christmas Party which is always a wonderful day at Hadji!

As always, please check your emails for updates on these and other happenings at Hadji! If you are not receiving
these emails, please contact the front office.

Yours In Faith,
Illustrious Sir Travis High
