Michael Eugene Harris, 70, of Milton, Florida passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026. He was the last of three children born to the late Secar and Madeline Harris.

Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Harris, of Milton, Florida; a daughter, Morgan (Nick) Vecsey, of Elberta, Alabama; a son, Michael (Amanda) Harris of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Ashley and William; a sister, Olivia Avent; a sister Grace (David) Ellis, a half-brother, Jackson Harris and many nieces and nephews.

Mike received his master’s degree from Troy State University and was an Air Force Veteran.

He was retired Assistant Officer in charge of CNATRA Detachment at NAS Whiting Field and an Adjunct Professor at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

Mike was a competitive slalom skier for over 20 years. He served on the aviation board for Santa Rosa County and was a member of many organizations including the Free Masons, Krewe of Lafitte, Blackwater Pirates, Cobb Branch Hunting Club, Elks Lodge and Hadji Untouchables. He also enjoyed spending time flying his RV-7 plane that he built or at the hanger with his fellow pilots.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 9th from 11:00am to 3:00pm (military honors at Noon) at the Hadji Shrine, 800 W Nine Mile Rd, Pensacola, Florida 32534.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the transportation fund for the Shrine.
