Letter From Your Potentate

Greetings Nobles,

Happy New Year! My hope is that 2022 will be an amazing and prosperous year for Hadji. With that being said, I would like to thank you for allowing me to serve as your Potentate this year. It is a privilege and honor that I do not take lightly. Hadji is home for Jennifer and I, and we will do our absolute best to make sure it is protected and successful and that our Shrine Children continue to receive our unconditional support. My slogan for 2022 is, “Respecting The Past While Embracing The Future” and I intend to do just that. Hadji’s history and legacy is important to preserve as we go forward with new and exciting projects to make our temple grow.

Installation on January 6. Installation was a wonderful night that we will not soon forget. Thank you to everyone that attended. I would like to offer a special thank you to Illustrious Sir George Wise and Lady Margie for their outstanding leadership in 2021. The Divan and I will do our best to make you proud in 2022. Also, a big thank you to the Potentate’s Staff for taking care of the food and bar at Installation; Your help was greatly appreciated. Additionally, I want to thank Past Potentates Arngie Pope and Chris Saul for serving as Installing Officer and Marshall during Installation. To have the two of you, for which I have so much respect, be a part of this ceremony was amazing. Lastly, I would like to thank Recorder Larry Mills and Lady Mary Virginia for their tremendous support not only during installation set-up and tear down, but always.

There are numerous events upcoming at Hadji and we would like for as many Nobles and Ladies to participate as possible. For instance, we are already preparing for the Potentate’s Ball which will be on April 30 and Oriental Guide Bobby Gean and Lady Tanya are hard at work on the Children’s Easter Egg Hunt which will be on April 16. Also, remember that unless otherwise announced, Stated Session is the 4th Monday of every month. Please be sure to check emails from Hadji for information on all events. If you are not receiving these emails, please contact the front office to make sure your email is correct.

In closing, please remember that we are all in this together. While I have the pleasure of being Potentate this year, I know that we cannot succeed if we do not all support and encourage the endeavors of those who are trying to find ways to support Hadji, our Shrine Children and each other.

Fraternally Yours,

Illustrious Sir Travis High
